Ms. Dixon became involved in her profession after working as a bookkeeper for a CPA. After tax season, he laid everyone off and she was in a state without a job and without a network. She soon found work in insurance, which she had worked in a few years prior, and realized it is a good fit for her. In her line of work, Ms. Dixon meets with clients, provides mortgage protection, designs packages to suit their budget, helps get it to underwriting, and helps families get their children in a college planning program. She attributes her success to a willingness to not give up and a desire to do her best at everything she did.
Ms. Dixon prepared for her career by earning an Associate of Arts, in accounting and business, summa cum laude, from a community college. She received an Advanced Certification in College Advising from the American College Foundation. In addition to her full-time work, Ms. Dixon is a mentor for the Narcissistic Abuse Meetup Group. Furthermore, she is the recipient of a painting award and has been honored nationwide for being an up-and-coming new leader.
